Coffee break

Make that a south-east Asian coffee break. So nervous - I always get pre-travel jitters. Basically I'm very superstitious in a quantum physics kind of way and think that if I focus on the worst possible outcomes, I'll somehow ward them off. I've probably just jinxed myself by typing it 'out-loud'.

I'm gonna miss you bloggers - maybe I'll get a chance to visit while I'm away, but I don't think its going to be a big priority to be honest - no offence.

When I get back, I'm going back to work - yay... it'll be really nice to see the welcoming old folks... yeah... they love me... :-)

Cyber beer, cyber chips, and cyber hugs to you all!

One more thing, the hostess got a good laugh out of my "Fess up" email - but claims they are "just friends". My husband still isn't convinced and thinks Hostess is either covering up for them, or just is 'Romance Blind".
'Just friends'... does that mean they are trying to break it off? Or still at the flirting stage?
What does she know?

Came here to thank you for your visit at the 6 O'clock Swill site. Did you click on the Elvis link and see Sedgwick's fabulous Vanstone in the Elvis white suit?

This is a pretty daggy sort of a post, I'm Jutsa's mum, and missing her already boo hoo as she flies to the East which is west of here. She hadnt told me!! how good her blog has been, I'd only seen it in the early days, and it almost seems like an invasion of privacy to look at ya daughter's blog.So I hadnt been. But now I am, and I just love it. They're really HER cats, or at least the smart Siamese one is/was, and she chose the black one because I dont like black cats, I like black and white ones.
Yesterday I was reading the New York Review of Books... and it is full of references to blogs. This is a new development. So I checked out one of them, sleeplessinsudan, and realised (derrr as the simpsons say) that there are many different blogging sites.
None of my work colleagues know about blogs, I've asked them and they just say "wotsa blog". So out of touch! and we spend a lot of time on computers. (I work at a rural uni). So, will spread the word. It's just a revelation. I'm being an anonymous post because I havent got myself a blog site YET
What do you all think about privacy and blogs??

For Justine's Mother - Privacy and blogging seem to be at odds in theory. Why broadcast your journal/diary over the internet where everyone can read it. But in reality there are many Millions and Billions of pages online that the sheer quantity can also provide a nice buffer zone.

Someone may have to sift through thousands and hundreds of thousands to stumble across your blog.

But in general, I think it's best to start off Blogging annonymous at first. Especially if you will be divulging info of a "sensative" nature about co-workers, employers, etc. Then over time you can reveal more and more about your identidy if you wanted to.

I can't imagine my Mother reading my blog, she would FREAK that I was so public about so many private things!

oh, and to Justine's mom:
My mom reads my blog and I try not to censor myself, even though I know there might be some things she doesn't want to hear there. I trust her to accept me as I am. As for privacy-well, you can't get to know people unless you are willing to let them 'see' the real you. you have balance openness with common sense I guess.
I met some really amazing, lovely people on your blog (including your daughter) so I hope people continue to blog openly. I know I will. :-)

Michelle! That's fair dinks my Mum's comment! And she likes your blog, so i think you owe her an apology! But she needs to get her own, that's pretty obvious to everyone, right? She actually has internet access where she works, so there's nothing preventing it.

Mum - privacy? You are CONCERNED about my privacy? You tell my relatives my URL. You say you won't, and then you get all proud and irrational, and do! :-)

Rob and Kyah - ditto ditto. For me its an outlet, too. I just need to get stuff out there - and the fact that I get meaningful responses to what I express is, adjectivally, my purpose.

Thanks for all the well wishing, cos we really did have a good time. And who knows, maybe these good vibes make a difference.

Brownie - No!! I will check that link and I feel I am sure to be impressed...

[aside to Mum] - geez, mum, no one says "daggy" anymore! Where have you been living?
And get an alias!

glad you were missed, and I'll catch up on my day off.
Do people really not use daggy anymore?
